1,331 people experiencing homelessness in 2025 and 1,101 in 2024—compared to 555 in 2021.

An estimated 2% of Bermuda’s population is experiencing homelessness.

Black Bermudian men are most likely to become homeless and stay homeless, confirming the endemic nature of systemic racism in Bermuda.

Escaping a state of homelessness is tough, with well over 50% of rough sleepers identifying as long-term homeless.

The majority of homeless people are hidden—staying with family and friends, sofa surfing, sleeping in cars or living in derelict buildings.

Recognising dignity and equal rights is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace. Homelessness violates basic human rights.

The human tragedy of every person experiencing homelessness is formidable—a trauma that extends to families and society at large.

Homelessness is not an unmanageable problem. In most cases, it can be prevented, and in every case, it can be ended permanently.
